Ok i was on my way home from radio shack today when about half a block away from my house i notice the inside of my interior was starting to smoke next the engine bay started to smoke up .. Luckily i was near home so i went ahead and go to the back yard parking.. I turn off the car and open the hood.. The whole engine bay was in smoke.. Right away i spotted a wire that was toasted! This wire was connected to the positive battery.. Anyhow, by this time i was nausea from the burning of foul smell of the rubber on the wires i was coughing my lungs off!! After all this the interior was still up in smoke so i find myself going in there looking and checking.. Smoke started to come out of the back of my driver seat where the gas tank was.. I was like holy shit@@... So i quickly disconnected all battery terminals (i know i should of did it when i first stop the car, my stupid ass) .See that burn wire was still roasting because it was still connected to the positive terminal of the battery.. Anyhow, after half and hour of coughing my ass off from the smell i rip off all interior piece and proceeded to track where the hell that wire goes to.. The wire ran in the interior and following the side of the door on the driver side and then ended right on the back close to the fuel tank area with no other connections attach to it.. The freaking wires burn through part of my carpet on the side railing of the driver side..All and all i finally found out that the wire that caught fire was not an orignal stock wire..; The retard who own my car previous had put it in and never tape off the end of the wires instead it was just crimp off and left wide open current because as the other end was connected to the positive battery terminal. To make things worse the guy used a SPEAKER WIRES TO RUN CURRENT directly from the battery.. There were never any other connectiions to that end that he crimp off . It was just there and i was looking for the other open end but none was found.. Dont know if you guys know this or not but this retard had nos in the car previous so i dont know if he mess around wit the wires or not.. Anyhow i check all the wires that are close to the flame up wire to see if any damage was done.. Some had minor but nothing a little electrical tape and crimping couldnt do.. Wow i thought that was it for me.. Too scary and hopefully no one has to experience it like i did... sorry for the long post.. bqe2
